Introduction - Hello from afar

Greetings everyone,

                                       I am a new member here hoping to gain some insight and conventional wisdom on many topics as I start the process of becoming Cambridge CELTA certified and eventually taking on a role as a teacher of English abroad. I am a semi-retired career chef. I will be looking for input on teaching and related methods, techniques and good practices to better prepare me for the big transition from the 'chef' world to the teaching world. The two are not so different in ways, as being a chef is often a matter of being a teacher and evaluating performance. I am looking forward to making new acquaintances here are networking with like-minded professionals.
